Hypnosis is a powerful, natural state that occurs through focused attention. That focus can be traced back to the root of a problem in order to resolve it, which is exactly what anxiety needs.
Anxiety is often the brain working in a state of "what if", but on steroids. It is made up of many ingredients: fear, panic, worry, physical sensations, racing thoughts. Each person's recipe is different. You and I may both feel anxious, but the severity and the triggers will likely be completely different.
I prefer to think of anxiety as something we do rather than something we have. You do not catch anxiety off a door handle. It is a pattern the mind runs, and patterns can be changed.
Why hypnosis works where effort fails
By discovering what the individual ingredients are for each client, and noticing the patterns in thought and behaviour, we can trace back to the source of the problem and stop those unwanted feelings from escalating.
Anxiety can arrive quickly, but just as it comes on fast, it can be taken away equally fast. Most clients feel a sense of relief almost immediately, because the treatment is tailored directly to how their anxiety actually works, not to a generic textbook version of it.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. A skilful hypnotherapist simply shows you the way, and your own subconscious does the fixing.
Do I need to attend in person?
No. Sessions work equally well over Zoom as they do in person at my Bangor practice. It has never been easier to access effective help quickly from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are.
If anxiety has been running your decisions, the next step is a free 15-minute call. No commitment, just a conversation about what you are dealing with and whether this is the right fit.
