Smoking has serious health risks everyone already knows about. So why do so many people continue? The simple answer is habit.
Many people believe smoking is a physical addiction. But consider: pregnant women stop smoking instantly, at will, with no dangerous withdrawal. With a genuine physical dependency like serious alcohol addiction, you cannot just stop instantly without severe consequences. Smoking does not work like that. Stopping with hypnosis kills the habit: a reset to factory settings. No one is born a smoker.
The three beliefs that keep people smoking
Nearly every client I have helped become a non-smoker held one of three beliefs beforehand: "I can't do it, I've tried before and it's too hard." "I'm physically addicted so it's going to be too difficult." "It does something for me, it relaxes me."
That last one matters most. Smoking is very often an unconscious protection mechanism, a comfort blanket of sorts. In session we find a new, healthy way to fulfil the same positive intention the smoking currently provides, which is why clients walk away as non-smokers straight away rather than white-knuckling through cravings.
The numbers
According to NHS data, 47% of cancer admissions can be attributed to smoking. If you smoke 20 a day in the UK, that is the best part of £540 per month.
One recent client was deeply sceptical but ready to quit; he was spending nearly £700 a month on cigarettes. One session. He has not smoked since. If you are ready to be a non-smoker, hypnosis is the safest and most effective way to leave the habit firmly behind you, almost as if it never happened. Book a free consultation and we will get it done.
